Bobbie Jean Fults Jones, affectionately known to family and friends as “Bobbie Jean” or “BJ,” passed away following injuries and complications from a recent fall at an assisted living center near Atlanta, Georgia, where she had happily resided for over a year.
Born in Hillsboro, Tennessee, on December 26, 1943, BJ was the beloved daughter of the late George Cleveland “Cleve” Fults and Dessie Carl Darnell Fults. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bettie Lois Fults Brown; her brother-in-law, Johnny Brown; and her nephew, George Dalon Brown.
BJ is survived by her cousins Betty Dimitri, Emmitt Dimitri, Ron Fults, Thomas Dimitri, and Tracie Dimitri, as well as a circle of close, devoted friends.
BJ retired after a long and satisfying career as a Collections Manager with Ascend Federal Credit Union. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a woman of vibrant passions. She had a deep love for flowers, and creating beautiful floral arrangements for others brought her immense joy throughout her life. An avid golfer for many years, BJ also dedicated countless hours to her community and faith as a long-time, active member of the Hillsboro Methodist Church.
She had a servant’s heart and was passionately involved in charitable causes, frequently participating in walks for cancer research and coordinating benefit events through her church for Alzheimer’s awareness and support.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Manchester Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 7, at 10:00 AM, with burial following immediately at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery.
Manchester Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and oversee all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in BJ’s memory to the Hillsboro Methodist Church.
