At its Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Board appointed Adam Floied as Manchester Chief of Police and Lonnie Foley as Manchester Water and Sewer Director.
Floied had been serving as Interim Police Chief since the retirement of former Police Chief Bill Sipe. The Manchester Police Department made a Facebook post shortly after the meeting congratulating Floied. The post is copied below.
Please join me in congratulating Chief Adam Floied on his official appointment as Chief of Police.
Since the retirement of Chief Sipe, Chief Floied has served the department with professionalism, steady leadership and a strong commitment to duty while in the role of Interim Chief. His appointment reflects the confidence placed in his experience, character and ability to lead.
On behalf of the department, we extend our congratulations and best wishes for continued success as he leads the organization forward in service to our community.
Foley has served as Interim Water and Sewer Director since former Director Jeff Perry resigned, citing concerns about ethical practices within the department.
After no discussion, the vote to remove “Interim” from Floied and Foley’s titles passed 5-0-1-1 (Mayor Joey Hobbs abstaining; Alderman Julie Anderson absent).
