At the Manchester Board of Mayor and Alderman (BOMA) meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 6, Manchester Mayor Joey Hobbs named his appointments to the city’s Water and Sewer Commission and Policy and Procedures Committee.
Hobbs nominated Aldermen Mark Messick and Donnie Parsley to join the Water and Sewer Commission. Messick and Parsley will join Michael Anderson, Terry Hillsman, Nelson Watson, Gary Hunt, and Alderman Thomas Crosslin. BOMA approved Hobbs’ nominations with a 5-0 vote (Alderman Julie Anderson absent).
Please note that the list of commission members on cityofmanchestertn.com is not current and lists Julie Anderson as a member.

Hobbs said the commission’s next meeting would be on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. However, no agenda for the meeting had been posted at the time of this article.
Hobbs nominated Alderman Ryan French and Crosslin to the newly created Policies and Procedures Committee. He said that someone from the city’s Budget and Finance Committee, Tina Warren of the HR department, and City Attorney Craig Johnson would sit on the committee. There will also be two public-at-large appointments to the committee.
Hobbs asked that BOMA approve his current nominations so that the committee could begin meeting. He said he would bring nominations for the two public-at-large seats to the BOMA meeting in February.
“It’s time we look through the code book and make sure that everything is up to date and we’re not living in the 1970s on codes and things we don’t do today,” Hobbs said.
Hobbs added that job descriptions would also start coming through the committee.
Hobbs’ nominations for the committee passed 5-0.
The ordinance calling for the formation of the committee passed its second reading at the Dec. 2 BOMA meeting.
