On Thursday, March 19, Manchester Parks and Recreation announced on Facebook that the Recreation Center basketball gym will be closed for repair for about a month, starting on March 30.
The full Facebook post is copied below.
Starting on Monday, March 30th, the basketball gym will be closed for floor repairs. Parts of the floor will be removed & replaced, and the entire floor will then be sanded, painted, and resurfaced. This process is estimated at four weeks to complete.
To clarify, our gym floors were repaired not that long ago due an issue caused by water pipes. Unfortunately, due to high humidity that was caused during the period that our air conditioner was malfunctioning, the gym floors are now needing to be repaired once again. The cost of the repair is being mostly covered by insurance.
Thank you for your patience through this process as we work to improve our facility for our guests. We still have many other amenities such as the wellness room and pool open during this time!
