Pray4TN is an unprecedented “Historic, Annual Call to Prayer, Fasting and Repentance” established in 2024, for the whole month of July. This was introduced by Tennessee Representative Monty Fritts, passed through the Assembly with 59 co-sponsors, and signed by Gov. Bill Lee. The new resolution 0051 was passed in Spring 2025, making it annual. It was implemented in each county by holding a Solemn Assembly at every county courthouse (95) throughout the month of July in both 2024 and 2025.
We all know the Church, the Bride of Christ, needs to re-establish regular prayer gatherings in most churches nationwide, and it really doesn’t matter who sounds the Clarion Call. But never has a state made this kind of declaration, for this length of time, to pray, fast and repent before Almighty God. In the resolution, it explicitly makes clear that this is not a demand, nor requirement for all Tennesseans. It is for all those who are “physically able and spiritually inclined” who want to answer the call.
Terry and Barbi Franklin, who helped Rep. Fritts coordinate the county courthouse prayer gatherings both years, are no strangers to fasting and prayer. For more than 41 years of full-time ministry, they have pursued revival through prayer, fasting and worship ministries with faithfulness and fervor. They have held worship and prayer events for families, churches, and cities since 1985 across America and worldwide in 40 nations as www.LoveSings.com. And since 2011, they also established a ministry called Worship City, “re-naming” music city to pursue this mission locally and statewide: “Worship City: Cultivating Fasting Prayer & Worship that Transforms Families Cities & Nations!” (This began through a prayer meeting they held in their home every Thursday night, Worship City Nights.) See www.WorshipCity.com
Then in 2018 Barbi and Terry began gathering a few key, influential prayer leaders (some are pastors) from across Tennessee to come to their home for a three-day prayer retreat. Beginning with 18 out of 20 who were invited, they’ve grown to 30 leaders, gathering just to pray for Tennessee. These leaders now assemble as the
Tennessee Prayer Coalition and were instrumental not only in gathering leaders to coordinate the Pray4TN county courthouse gatherings to date, but they also helped distribute prayer and fasting packets to pastors and churches across Tennessee in February of 2020, with nearly 1,000 churches joining Awaken Tennessee, a 30-day fasting and prayer effort Barbi and Terry helped a pastor in Nashville expand across the state.
After the integral part they played in Pray4TN in 2024 with their Tennessee Prayer Coalition leaders, Rep. Fritts asked Barbi and Terry to take the responsibility and lead this movement going forward so he could his government work effectively. So they have now established 20 Pray4TN Regional Leaders who each oversee and encourage the Pray4TN County Leaders in their regions.
Barbi and Terry will soon have the new 2026 July schedule up on www.Pray4TN.us and are currently lending encouragement to those pursuing other states to do the same. To date, more than a dozen states have reached out to Pray4TN through the website sign-ups page to learn how to implement and inspire their own state leaders to follow this example. The vision is more than prayer every July. All these leaders coming onboard in Tennessee hope to inspire every church across their state to re-establish weekly prayer gatherings where the whole church is involved, young and old, to cry out to God for His mercy on Tennessee and America!
