The Fly Arts Center in Shelbyville is among 66 nonprofits across America that have been awarded grants to present the Levitt Music Series in 2026, 2027, 2028.
Levitt Music Series grants are multi-year matching grants that help bring free, live music to towns and cities all over the country. The grantees will receive up to $40,000 per year to present free outdoor concerts over the next three years.
In its application for the grant, the Fly Arts Center touted the growth coming to Shelbyville’s square with the proposed development of the Riverview District. The Center plans to use the grant to supplement the Glass Hollow and Grindstone Cowboy’s recent investment in revitalizing the Shelbyville square area.
“This Levitt Music Series represents more than a concert lineup; it’s the start of our comeback story,” the application reads. “It honors our original blueprint by restoring the heart of our community to its intended purpose, a vibrant gathering place that reflects our values, heritage, and future vision as a cultural pillar in Middle Tennessee.”

Six Levitt AMP grantees were selected from Tennessee. The other Tennessee grant recipients are Downtown Lawrenceburg, the Downtown Maryville Alliance, the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce, Loudon ALIVE, and Main Street McMinnville.
The Levitt Foundation exists to strengthen the social fabric of America. The foundation partners with communities to activate underused outdoor spaces, creating welcoming, inclusive destinations where the power of free, live music brings people together and invigorates community life.
