At a meeting on Tuesday, March 10, Tullahoma Airport Authority (TAA) Chairman Karla Smith said that the TAA would start over in its hiring process for an Airport Manager.
The TAA had previously passed a recommendation that the Board of Mayor and Aldermen hire Assistant Airport Manager Gavin Dishon to the position. However, the hiring stalled after former City Administrator Jason Quick said he would not approve the recommendation if it was submitted to him in writing.

Smith said that the job would be posted for about two weeks and that the TAA would notify the previous candidates of the renewed opportunity. She said the TAA and the city may also modify their agreement as to who can approve the contract for the Airport Manager before the hiring.
“For right now, we are happy with our Assistant Interim Manager, and so we are just going to sort of slow down and do it again,” Smith said. “But there are some other things that came out that we need to correct, and one of them is the agreement with the city.”
The TAA will work with the city’s HR department to post the job.
