At a special called meeting on Thursday, Feb. 26, the Tullahoma Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) voted unanimously to accept City Administrator Jason Quick’s resignation.
The agenda for the meeting indicated that the BOMA would discuss employment matters regarding the office of City Administrator, including potential disciplinary action. Mayor Lynn Sebourn said that there had been a new development since the meeting notice was issued, resulting in his motion to accept Quick’s resignation and accept the terms of a settlement agreement with Quick.
Alderman Matthew Bird said that due to pending litigation and the BOMA’s settlement agreement with Quick, he had been advised by counsel to give only a brief comment.
“The Board was provided the results of a legal investigation, and through legal counsel, we were advised the risk and potential liabilities to the city,” Bird said. “I believe the Board is acting in the best interests of city operations and city employees to accept this resignation.”
Sebourn said that because of the terms of the settlement agreement, the BOMA would not be making any further statement at the meeting beyond Bird’s comment.
