TCS Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director Jessie Kinsey was recently named the Tennessee Directors of Career and Technical Education Association (TDCTE) Pioneer Award winner for Middle Tennessee.
“This award holds special meaning for me, as it recognizes the commitment and achievements of our CTE teachers and students – success that would not be possible without the strong support of our parents, administrators, school board and postsecondary and industry partners,” Kinsey said. “It is evident that Tullahoma City Schools is committed to preparing our students to be future-ready.”
The TDCTE Pioneer Award recognizes CTE directors who display extraordinary leadership, advocacy and innovation in career and technical education. Recipients are recognized for initiating new programs, building industry partnerships, and improving student opportunities.
Joining Kinsey in receiving the Pioneer Award were Danny Satterfield, as the East Tennessee recipient, and Carrie Regalado, as the West Tennessee recipient. Regalado was named the overall Tennessee Pioneer Award winner.
“I can think of no better person to receive this award than Jessie,” said TCS Director of Schools, Dr. Catherine Stephens. “In her time as CTE Director, Jessie has made a tremendous impact on our district. Under her leadership, our CTE programs have
expanded and flourished. Jessie was also recently named to the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce board, which will help her continue to build connections and create new school-to-work pathways for our students.”
