“Tullahoma High School visual art students currently have their artwork on display at The Celtic Cup. Their artwork was inspired by Cassie Stephens, who took the time to speak virtually to students last week. Stephens taught elementary school for 25 years and is now on a mission to share her expertise with the world. She is a blogger, author, and artist who utilizes social media and has a special place in the hearts of teachers everywhere.

“When THS visual arts teacher Emily May-Ragland was approached about having student artwork displayed at The Celtic Cup in May, she immediately thought of Stephens’ recent bouquet paintings with optical illusion backgrounds. May-Ragland reached out to Stephens to see if it was OK to use those paintings as inspiration. Stephens answered with a resounding “yes” and offered to schedule a Google Meet with students to discuss her work and answer any questions. The students loved hearing directly from the artist they were inspired by, and it made the lesson so much more fulfilling.
