Tullahoma Swim Club earned its second win of the summer league season on Thursday, facing McMinnville Swim Team at home.
Tullahoma hosted the meet on Thursday, June 11, winning 369 to 186. Over 100 swimmers participated in the meet.
Swim meets are scored based on how swimmers place. First place takes five points, second place takes three points, and third place takes one point. A first-place relay team scores seven points while a second-place relay scores three. Swimmers may enter a maximum of three individual events and two relay events.
Tullahoma’s top scorers were Jayla Brotemarkle, Brant Poarch, and Grady Sturgill. All three swimmers won three individual events, scoring 15 points each. Sturgill improved his personal best time in all three of his individual events to earn his first place finishes.
Brotemarkle (14 years old) competed in the Girls 13-14 category, Poarch (8) in the Boys 8 & Under, and Sturgill (13) in the Boys 13-14.
Tullahoma Swim Club heads to Fayetteville on Monday, June 15, to take on the Fayetteville Area Swim Team (FAST).
